Reshaping Online Learning & Test Prep

📍 New York, USA

🏭 Industry: EdTech, SaaS

🎯 Objective: Create an innovative platform that redefines test preparation by combining the effectiveness of one-on-one tutoring with the scalability and accessibility of online learning.

📝 Scope: Business Strategy,  UIUX, Product Development, Branding, Go-To-Market, Financial Planning

The Challenge

Traditional online test prep platforms often fall short in effectively engaging students. Many learners use them primarily to get final answers rather than to develop problem-solving skills.

These platforms lack personalization, making it difficult for students at different levels to stay motivated and focused. Without tailored guidance, students struggle to retain information and apply it effectively.

Research has shown that tutoring is one of the most effective ways to improve learning outcomes, but it is not very accessible, affordable or scalable.

The challenge was to merge the personalized, interactive approach of tutoring with the flexibility of digital learning to create a system that actively guides students while keeping them engaged.

Studies showed that 1-on-1 tutoring with regular tests and feedback, resulted in the average student performing 2 whole grades.

Our Approach

We worked closely with the client to develop a test preparation platform that mimics the structure and effectiveness of a tutor while eliminating the inefficiencies of traditional online learning.

    • Designed a system where students actively engage with problem-solving rather than passively consuming content.

    • Built a step-by-step guidance mechanism that provides hints and explanations dynamically, simulating a tutor’s intervention.

    • Integrated feedback loops to help students learn from their mistakes and reinforce retention.

    • Enabled system flexibility to recognize alternative correct answers, mirroring how a tutor would validate understanding.

    • Built a Beta Version with key features:

      • Step-by-step problem-solving assistance.

      • Real-time feedback and tracking.

      • Custom tutor-side interface for streamlined content input.

    • Ensured that the architecture supports future AI integration for automated content generation and nuanced response recognition.

    • Conducted extensive research into EdTech trends, student learning behaviors, and competitive gaps.

    • Developed a go-to-market (GTM) strategy targeting students preparing for SAT, GRE, and ACT exams.

    • Built a financial model projecting user growth, monetization potential, and scalability.

    • Designed a structured testing plan to evaluate platform usability and engagement.

    • Recruited early users from tutoring programs and universities to collect real-world feedback.

    • Iterated on the user experience to ensure smooth transitions, clear UI, and intuitive interactions.

What’s Next?

The next phase focuses on scaling the platform, expanding the question bank, integrating AI-driven assistance, and refining the user experience to further improve engagement and learning outcomes.

Additionally, the team will focus on securing funding through strategic fundraising efforts and preparing for an official launch to bring the platform to a wider audience.
